5 Healthy Things to do in Indy This Weekend

This weekend there are a ton of fun things to do! Summer is right around the corner, and now you can take the time you need with tons of workshops focusing on your physical and mental health and wellness. You can stick to some relaxing yoga or try things you’ve never done before, like essential oils and sound baths! You can focus on your mental wellbeing by going to a depression or anxiety workshop, or you can simply enjoy the beautiful summer outdoors by hiking or doing yoga. Maybe you have set a wellness goal this summer, and you can fulfill it with one of these amazing activities! Whatever it is, we’ve got you covered! Read to find out what you can do this weekend. 


1. Getting Started with Essential Oils 

If you want to learn more about essential oils, this Saturday at the JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis, a workshop from 10 a.m. -11 a.m. will be hosted by oil experts. The workshop will cover what oils are, how they work to benefit your health, how they are made, how to use them to manage stress, natural remedies, and using oils for sleep! The best part? 2. Yoga workshop for depression and anxiety 

Two events are happening this weekend at Dragonfly 360 Yoga and Wellness studio. On Saturday, June 12th at noon, the first event is a five-hour yoga for anxiety workshop. This workshop will include yoga’s effect on the mind, models of energy, tools to manage anxiety, lectures, and active practice lead by Dr. Kim Allen. The workshop has both in-person and virtual. Including the same structure on Sunday, the 13th is a workshop for depression starting at 11 a.m. Also, lead by Dr. Kim Allen. To sign up visit the links here. 


3. Harmonic sound immersion at The Playful Soul 

On Sunday, June 13th, The Playful Soul, Michelle Qureshi is leading a sound bath experience. The idea of this class is being immersed with beautiful instruments like guitar, singing bowls, flutes, gongs, and more to lie down and listen while reflecting and finding a journey within yourself. 4. Hiking with simplicity juice at beauty boost 

Join the Beauty Boost community this Saturday at Eagle Creek Park for a reflective hike. First, you will meet the women going on the hike and then start hiking the trails! Midway through the hike, a coach will lead you through a discussion. Then you will be provided with healthy snacks, including juices from Simplicity Juices, a local business. 5. Volunteer day with invoke yoga studio

Invoke studio frequently hosts outdoor yoga classes at the Indianapolis War Memorial. To give back, Invoke is hosting a volunteer day where participants can do things like plant flowers, mulch, and clean up the area. The event is on Saturday.
